Kimono {S/M} | Dress {S} | Sandals Same sandal, different color {6} | Necklace (similar) | Rings

Does anyone remember on the Lizzie McGuire Movie when Lizzie's nemesis ripped off her (Hilary Duff's) graduation gown and called her an OUTFIT REPEATER?! I do, and I think it scarred me for life because I do not like being an outfit repeater... And don't you dare judge me for liking The Lizzie McGuire Movie. I'm not ashamed. I also have the sound track ;) "Hey now, Hey nowww! This is what dreammmssss are made of!"

But unless I happen to become a bazillionaire one day, it's pretty unavoidable so I think the key for me is to style my items differently so I don't FEEL like I'm being an outfit repeater ;). So here I am being an outfit repeater with this floral kimono, but I wanted to show you another of my favorite ways to style a kimono! You  may remember a similar look I styled here! There's just something about a swing dress with a kimono that is so cute but feels easy and laid back!

Apparently the rain and hail are back for another visit to San Antonio {seriously, what is going on?!?!} so that's fun... It's so sad so many people have horrible hail damage to their cars, but I do love big storms...let's just keep the storms without the hail... Thank you very much.

Anyways, you made it to Wednesday so you are halfway through with your week! Yay, you! You got this girl! Have a beautiful day!

Thank you so much for reading (especially when my weirdness comes out) :)!

First, let me apologize that this post is so late in going live! For some reason, blogger has not been letting me upload photos which are just a tad bit important to go along with an outfit post so that seriously set me back this morning! Happy Monday, right?! ;)

I had my Rodan + Fields launch party this past Saturday which was so much fun! I am so thankful for the friends and family that came out to support me. This is the dress I wore, and I absolutely love the easy fit and feel. The colors are perfect for heading into spring and summer, and it is so easy to throw on with sandals also. I'm wearing an XS, but I would have sized up to a small if they'd had it in stock. The fit is really nice because it would be flattering on a lot of different body types.

I don't know if y'all have seen the brand Jack by BB Dakota, but it is so on point! The clothes are adorable and chic but very affordable. BB Dakota makes my favorite leather jackets so I'm really excited to be able to shop their other pieces in some of my favorite stores also. I found this dress in a boutique here called Bevello, but it isn't listed on their website. I've also seen pieces in Dillard's and other department stores.

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone had a fabulous and fun weekend!

Kimono {S/M} | Tank {M} | Flares {2} | Bag, similar | Shoes, old- LOVING these and these | Lips Indie Flick | Earrings, old- want these, these, these...I could go on.

Happy FRIYAY FRIYAY FRIYAY! I am so excited for this weekend for a few reasons: 1. My Rodan + Fields business launch party is Saturday morning! 2. MACARONS! I made macarons for my launch party so I am excited to eat them! If you've never tried making macarons and trying not to eat them throughout the process- DON'T. It was miserable and nearly impossible so I've been dying for some for the past three days. 3. Because WEEKEND. Duh! Weekends are just my favorite in general because I don't have to wake up ridiculously early, and I get to do whatever I want {usually, this entails laying on my couch all day catching up on my shows and doing absolutely nothing}.

Onto my outfit- flares again! I told you I was in love. I styled them with my favorite tank {also seen here} and this adorable tassel kimono from The Well Clothing Boutique. A good friend of mine recently opened up this online clothing boutique, and she is killing it!!! You can shop her website here, and major bonus- she offers FREE SHIPPING on all orders inside the U.S.! I bought this kimono and another top {blog post coming soon} from her the other day when I went to shop, but there were probably at least three other things I wanted so I will definitely be going back for more! So go shop with her and support a local, small biz #girlboss!

Y'all have a fabulous weekend! Thanks for reading!

Top- Forever 21 {L}, I couldn't find it online, but here are a ton of cute options | Jeans {2} Run SUPER long so consider tailoring or ordering petite | Tote, Similar here | Lips Indie Flick

I feel like if I had a picture of my Marme in the 70's it would probably look super similar to this! Flares are back in a big way, and I, for one, am so excited! I held onto my flare jeans with a death grip until I could hold on no longer and had to finally embrace skinnies. But as the flares have returned, I'm seeing that they are so much more than just another jean option. I wore the flares of my middle and high school days simply because they were the only acceptable cut to wear, but flares of today are more of a fashion statement. They're taking outfits that were just "cute" with skinnies to a whole new level. Example: This off the shoulder top- super cute, right? It would look good with skinny jeans, but switch them out for a flare and the whole look is transformed. It isn't just jeans and an off the shoulder blouse anymore; it's a fashion statement with an ode to the 70's.

Don't get me wrong, I was super nervous to go with flares again because, girl, I do not have the body I had in high school anymore. I put flares on again for the first time in...a WHILE...and thought my thighs were staging a mutiny and taking over! *tad dramatic* Don't get discouraged though! Keep an open mind, and keep trying them out until you find some you're confident in. Really, it's all about how you decide to style them so here are a few tips:
1. Please don't wear them with flats. Just don't. You need the extra height of a platform/wedge to give your legs the appearance of being longer, thus slimmer! If you need to get them tailored, do it! Dragging hems on the ground until they're ragged and holy is not cute.
2. Go for a higher rise waist! This helps slim your waist and hold everything in {if you know what I mean ;)}
3. Don't be scared to play around with your tops! The fun part is that flare jeans seriously expand your wardrobe options! You can go with a cropped top like I did here, tuck in a fitted sweater or shirt,  add a kimono (this look is coming soon), rock a poncho like mah girl did here, or throw on a fitted button up and wide belt for a put together, structured look. The options are endless.

On a different note, here are a few fun/embarrassing photos of my wearing flares back in the day. Both of these were my first years of college because this actually proved harder than I thought. Apparently back then, I did not care as much about getting my "whole outfit" in the pic! ha!
I coached a middle school cheerleading squad for 5 years after HS, and I loved every minute of it. Definitely one of my biggest passions!

Obviously before I followed rules 1-3 listed above. ;)

So what do you think of flares? Are you going to give them a go again this time around?

Thanks for reading! Have a great day!

Tank, old- Similar | Pixie Pants- this print isn't online anymore, but you may be able to grab it off your store's sale rack! Cute print, love this and this {6Petite}| Sandals, old- Next on my wishlist | Purse, love this | Lips Indie Flick | Sunnies only $15!

There's something about a good pixie pant that I just love. They can so easily be dressed up or down for different occasions, and they ad an element of put-togetherness (Yes, I just made up that word) to any outfit.

I've had my eye on this pair from Loft for a while, but when I saw them on 40% off the sale price the other day, I knew it was my chance to snag them for a great price. With the classic black and white pattern, I definitely see these being a good investment that I plan to wear for a long time! I bought petite because the regular length is just a tad bit too long on me (an additional 2" according to the website). Loft also has two different fits with their pants. The Marisa fit is for those of you with proportional waist and hips, and the Julie fit (what I'm wearing) is for those of us with smaller waists and more curvy hips! I love that they recognize that their customers are all shaped a little different, and they compensate with multiple options for that.

Shout out to my bestie Michelle for taking my pictures! You need to go read her blog here

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone has a fabulous Monday!

I have a really simple, maybe too simple, recipe to share with y’all today that I am just a little bit obsessed with! I’ve always liked edamame, but my LOVE affair with edamame started the other night when I went to dinner with one of my besties and we ordered spicy edamame… Oh my word, that stuff was good. Like GOOD, good! Since then I have been craving more so I figured there had to be a simple way to make it myself!

First, I’m going to tell you what NOT to try though. Please do not go to your local grocery store and buy a hot oil mixture off of the shelves. Please don’t. I made this mistake, and it was not fun. I thought maybe it was the same thing they used at the restaurant we went to because it LOOKED similar…IT WASN’T. Oh my word, that stuff is HOT. Thankfully, I had the forethought to just taste a small amount before dousing my entire bag of edamame in it, and even with the smallest bit, my mouth was on FIRE. They weren’t joking with the name hot oil.

Moving on, I turned to google as I always do, and of course, it didn’t fail me. I found this recipe, but my pantry is pretty #basic so I did not have any toasted sesame oil on hand nor did I want to do an impromptu HEB trip for ONE ingredient so I improvised.

All you need is:
Edamame (however much your hungry heart desires)
Olive Oil
Soy Sauce
Crushed Red Pepper Flakes or Red Chili Flakes
Minced Garlic
Sea Salt Crystals (or regular salt- I don't think it makes a difference)

I’m lazy so I buy frozen edamame that steams in the bag in the microwave- don’t judge. While I’m waiting for that I’ll combine probably about 1.5 tablespoons of olive oil with what I’d guestimate to be about 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Add about 3 cloves of minced garlic (fresh gives the spiciest taste) and however much red pepper you want (I eye ball it, but it’s probably about 1.5 teaspoons- just adjust it to how much bite you want), and then mix them together! Add the edamame to the bowl and toss with the sauce! After I’ve tossed with sauce I sprinkle the sea salt crystals! If the ratios are off and I need more of something, I'll add at this point!

DE.LI.CIOUS. When I say I’m obsessed, I mean that on Monday I ate this for dinner. On Tuesday I ate this for lunch AND dinner, and today, as I type, I'm eating it for lunch. Is there such thing as the edamame only diet? Because if so, I'm in.

So give it a try and let me know what you think or you can do it with the actual recipe, and it would probably be EVEN BETTER!

Thanks so much for reading!

Hi! I need to apologize for my absentee-ism this week, but I have been sooo busy! I haven't been able to take outfit pics (don't worry- I will be remedying that this weekend- yay!), and I've been apartment hunting and working on my R+F business so my plate has been a little full! Don't worry, I'll figure out my balance again soon and be back on my normal schedule, but today I thought I'd share a few things I've found around the web that I'm loving recently.

First and most important, my best friend Michelle recently started a blog called Mediumish and did her first outfit post here! She's the funniest {yes, I know funniest isn't a word, but I think most funny sounds...funny} person I know and style ON POINT so go check her out and tell her I sent you ;)

Pineapples are everywhere recently, and I'm on board...for the most part. Everything in moderation- please don't step out of your house in head to toe pineapple, but I definitely think they have their adorable place. For example, in my belly, a summer BBQ with these cute place card holders, or as a pool float

This super helpful infographic on the shelf life of common foods. I have a bad habit of not paying attention to posted dates on foods... Gross, maybe, BUT *knock on wood* I haven't had food poisoning yet! D is the opposite though so he gets very frustrated if I let him consume milk that had a sell by date of 3 days ago...I also have not given him food poisoning *knock on more wood* yet so I think my system works...the system of ignorance is bliss ;)

I was the biggest Mary-Kate and Ashley fan...still am...I'm pretty sure I have most of these movies tucked away somewhere so I'm disappointed in myself to admit I only got 8 out of 14 right on this quiz! I guess it's time for a marathon! How many can you get?

This compilation by A Cup of Jo for hosting a dinner party makes me really want to plan one!

I have always been obsessed with cheeses...That sounds weird. Oh well, I just love a good cheese plate, and I have FINALLY succeeded in getting D into them also! When we were in Denver, we found this amazing little place called The Truffle Cheese Shop. They had the most delicious selection of meats and cheeses and were so nice to let us stand in there talking to them and sampling everything! We ended up leaving with probably 5 different cheeses and 4 different meats to eat that night and the next day. Our favorite by far had to be a black truffle cheese. OMG, amazing! When we got home, I made a black truffle alfredo sauce out of what was left, and let me tell you, there will be black truffle alfredo in heaven, I just know it. If you're ever in Denver, PLEASE go to the shop AND try their restaurant for us! It looked delicious, but we ran out of time so I need to live eat vicariously through someone!

And a few inspirations I need to remember to tell myself via Pinterest

So there you have it, a few links to keep you busy on this Wednesday! Have a fab day!
