When the hubby is away, Cassidy will play...with MAKE-UP! Okay, if I'm being honest, I would play with make-up all day, errday if I could. I could lose myself for hours upon hours on YouTube beauty blogs learning new techniques and new products to pick up on my next trip to Sephora. By no means do I think I am a professional at doing make up, and honestly, I really don't even know that much about doing make up. I just do what works for me and use tips and tricks I have learned a long the way. The girly girl in me will always love playing with makeup so I wanted to share my makeup routine with y'all, how I apply, and what products I use!

Let me start off by saying that I use a combination of drugstore and higher end makeup products. Everyone's skin is vastly different so what works for me may not work with your skin and vice versa. My skin type tends to be what I consider a combination of very dry and normal. I HAVE to use a strong moisturizer in the mornings and at night or my skin is so dry I can't even stand it. I don't normally have a problem with break outs or acne, but as you'll see I have a lot of red patches and uneven skin tone to cover.

Like I said, I definitely do not have perfect skin. I start off with a thick moisturizer. Right now I have been using Skin Drink by Lush Boutique, but I am always on the look out for the next best thing for my skin.

Next, I apply a thin layer of primer. Today I used bareMinerals Complexion Rescue and apply it with a studio powder brush by e.l.f. {Yes, not the purpose, but it blends like a dream so sue me or take my word and try it ;)} If I'm going for a less make-up day, I'll use a thicker layer of this by itself without any foundation. It gives build able coverage and is very moisturizing throughout the day!

Voila! Red splotches gone! I apply foundation with the same brush. I am in love with L'oreal Paris infallible make-up foundation 18 hour. It is a good medium coverage foundation and definitely buildable for days you need a little something extra.

I conceal using Maybelline New York Fit Me concealer and blend with a Sonia Kashuk foundation brush or  a damp beauty blender.

Next, I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit to highlight and contour my face. For contour I use an IT Cosmetics brush #227, and for highlighting, I use a Sonia Kashuk blush brush.

I apply blush to the apples of my cheeks and blend onto my cheekbones. I used Bobbi Brown blush in the shade Pale Pink with a Sonia Kashuk large powder brush.

Winged eye liner is definitely my go-to look. I line the top lashes using e.l.f. Precision Liquid Eyeliner in black. {"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again" is my motto for winged eyeliner. Oh! And keeping lots and lots of q-tips on hand;)}

Brows are a must, and I'm in love with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. {Don't forget the brush or it is a mess}

I was blessed with naturally long and curled lashes, but I cannot live without mascara. Covergirl Lash Blast Volume {BOGO at Ulta} in very black has always been one of my go-to mascaras!

Last but definitely not least are lips. My go-to color right now is the Butter London Lippy Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon in Disco Biscuit. The color looks a little different in these pictures, but on my lips, it is the perfect Barbie Pink! I have these lip crayons in about four different colors and absolutely love the consistency on my lips. I have super dry lips, and these are extremely pigmented and also help moisturize while I'm wearing them!

So there you have it, my easy go-to makeup routine! I'm not responsible for the weird faces in these pictures- I did not know what to do with my awkward self! I hope you enjoyed this, and maybe even got an idea for a new makeup product to try. Like I said earlier, I am definitely not a professional make-up artist or anything close- I simply enjoy playing and experimenting with makeup and wanted to share with you!

What are some of your favorite make-up products right now or your holy grail products? I'm always looking for new things to throw into my routine!

Thanks for reading!
